That's my thoughts too. Kevin and Molly were completely ill conceived, pun intended. Even though, yes it certainly did have long reaching ramifications which is a good thing as far as the show is concerned. Pity we had to suffer it to get there though. Sunita and karl are pretty sleazy and Paul and Eileen just struck me as morally off the wall. I know affairs are generally immoral but it just seemed more cruel to Lesley than the average "other woman" story.

They're all foul in different ways, but the Molvin affair was the worst IMO because it seemed the least unlikely and there was zero chemistry -- both actors seemed profoundly embarrassed by the whole thing. It is interesting to see how far the ramifications are echoing into the present and future with Baby Jack, Kevin's continued estrangement from his family, Tyrone's trust issues, and so on. The Pauleen affair could have been amazing if handled correctly but it just wound up alienating viewers.

My undestanding, Tvor, is that Anne cannot now inherit Frank's share of the Faktry as that would be benefitting from her crime (Crime of passion, certainly, but a crime nevertheless, as 'crime of pasion' is not recognised under British law.) So I suppose Frank's 40% passes to his NEXT next of kin. Anne said the guests at the crematorium were mainly family - you'd think they might have introduced another relative there.

I know what you mean about having a well known actor in a short term part. I love it but some people end up saying it's "stunt" casting. I don't agree. As for Michelle, she's a good friend of Collinson's. I would hazard a guess that she didn't have to do much in the way of an audition. I can't say i'm that keen on the actress. I find her wooden most of the time. I'm not really familiar with her EE work so it's nothign to do with that for me.

What I don't understand is that Michelle Collins hasn't portrayed Cindy in years. Hasn't more than a decade passed by? I could understand if it hadn't been that long of a time, and she does seem to be portraying a very different character from the manipulative bitch she was associated for years!

Some actors and actresses are very fortunate to be able to either play iconic roles for years or to be remembered for one character regardless of how many other acting gigs they have in their career. Not every actor or actress gets that opportunity.

One would imagine that some guest roles are intended for the actor(s) that portray the role. To get actors such as Sir Ian McKellan or Robert Vaughn are coops, especially as prior to their casting one may think that they felt that they may be 'above' Corrie. I'm sure that many British actors and actresses would like to have a role in their favourite soap but for many reasons it will only ever be a small percentage. It's not as if the whole cast is suddenly going to be recast with well-known faces, but every now again when they bring in new blood, why not? There's obviously something that Phil Collinson saw in Michelle Collins over every other actress that auditioned for Stella, and likewise for every other actor and actress that's been casted.

And I don't remember there being any hubaloo about Stephanie Cole being casted as Sylvia, nor could I imagine anybody else on screen as her!

Oh, yes, it has been a good month on Corrie, hasn't it? You have made some spot-on guesses on outcomes in the past, Tvor. I sometimes wonder if you have an inside connection, you're that good!

True, the number of little'uns on the show is really growing. And I can't find much love for Kirsty adding to that number, even after she apologized to everyone. Can't we have some nice women for a change?

Peter & Carla, well that's going to go down well on the street! Never mind Frank's trial, is there anyone who will accept them as a couple? Sometimes affairs do turn into loving, good relationships, though it's unfortunate for the family. Peter's been sneaking around for too long though, wanting his cake and all that.

Sally, oh I'll refrain from comment on the daft woman. Kevin taking her back? Kinda repetitive, eh? And I agree that Eileen's relationship with Paul seems a bit creepy. He seems reluctant at times. Maybe if Paul's wife was more settled in care first, it wouldn't be so bad. I can't imagine what it must be like in real life for families going through that.

The Street is really tackling some dark themes, with Owen hitting Faye. I think he probably learned that from his parents and could eventually learn positive step-parenting. Given time, I could like him with Anna's family, though I still cringe at what he did.

Thanks maggie! While i did think, at the time, that she and Jason were suited, that was true for the character she was at the time. With Steve, though, I thought she bloomed. It's too bad that when she found out she couldn't have kids, that seemed to be the beginning of the end. It was a real knockback for her. She really felt a failure.

I can't think a thing to add, Tvor. This is a wonderful history of Becky, really getting to the heart of her voyage of self-discovery as a character. I think part of her charm is that she can be so warm and yet so horrible, both on the same day at times. I love the photo you've chosen, Steve just sweetly happy and Becks in a cloud of lerve.

She's certainly able to handle Dev, that's for sure. I suppose handling customers in the corner shop where they sell booze probably isn't a whole lot different than in the pub. She would have to deal with at least some drunk customers at times. I like Sunita too and as for her being a cook, well someone is going to have to replace Betty nominally. They may retire the hotpot but they'll serve something.
